This unique program offers traditional Inuit birthing knowledge to Nunavummiut. Uummati believes modern birthing knowledge can benefit greatly with the incorporation of many traditional Inuit practices.

All Inuit women looking to advance their knowledge and skills in traditional birthing knowledge are welcome to take this course. 

This compliments a doula certification and anyone who works in the Perinatal field.

Rhoda & Natsiq Rhoda & Natsiq Instructors

Both Rhoda and Natsiq have a passion for birthing and the passing on of that birthing knowledge to new generations of Nunavummiut. Having served as birth partners for hundreds of births across the North over the course of many decades, Rhoda and Natsiq bring a wealth of experience informed by firsthand knowledge as well as from elders who have gone before them. Their goal is to continue passing this knowledge on to you!
